Bloomsbury Hack Day
thumb-events_03.pngThe inaugural Bloomsbury Hack Day on July 16, jointly hosted by Birkbeck, University of London, UCL and the Institute of Education, University of London, saw children from three schools participate with a programme of different lab-based activities designed and guided by three top London universities located in Bloomsbury. Alongside UCL Academy, Watford Grammar School for Boys and Townlee Grammar School (Girls) learned about programming during the hands-on activities. Read on for a video report.

LIBE: Supporting Lifelong Learning with Inquiry-Based Education
LIBE LogoAlex Poulovassilis and George Magoulas are participating in a new EU project, LIBE: Supporting Lifelong Learning with Inquiry-Based Education with other partners in Italy, Norway, Netherlands and Portugal. The project is developing a Virtual Learning Environment to support personalised development of literacy, numeracy and problem-solving skills through an inquiry-based approach to learning.

2nd Global Education and Technology Health Summit
LogoThe LKL is pleased to be a partner of the 2nd Global Education and Technology Health Summit, talking place in Dublin on November 13-14 2014. The summit brings together Governments, NGOs, Education and the digital and IT sectors to address the global health worker shortage, through the use of digital media and ICTs. The LKL will be presenting the latest research from the ESRC/DFID-funded mobile community health worker project, contributing to advancing knowledge on effective approaches to health worker training in low resource settings.
