Name: Dr George Roussos
About: George Roussos holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from University of Athens, Greece, an M.Sc. in Numerical Analysis and Computing from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK, and a Ph.D. from Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, University of London, UK. Before joining Birkbeck College as a lecturer he worked as the Research and Development Manager for Pouliadis Associates Corporation, Athens, Greece, where he was responsible for the strategic development of new IT products in the areas of knowledge management and mobile internet, as an Internet security officer for the Ministry of Defence, Athens, where he designed the Hellenic armed forces Internet exchange and domain name systems, and as a research fellow for Imperial College, London, UK, where he conducted research in distributed systems. His current research interests include distributed and pervasive computer systems and mobile commerce. He is a member of the ACM and an associate of the IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society.
