About:![]() |
Kaska Porayska-Pomsta is an RCUK Academic Fellow. Her research focuses
on different aspects of artificial intelligence (AI) including AI in
education, computational linguistics and cognitive science. As a
linguist she is keen to understand social and cultural conditions for
successful communication. She also wants to understand what
makes human-human communication and tutoring effective and how can
human experience and expertise be applied to improve human-computer
interactions. As a researcher in Artificial Intelligence
she is keen to find out the features of
human-computer interactions that make them educationally effective,
socially relevant and useful. In her research she relies on a number
of different AI techniques and research methods and she strives for all
her research to be applied in everyday, real environments.
