The Institute of Education (IOE) and Faculty Development (of the former London Deanery) are offering free places on a course designed to help you develop and use technology in clinical training and educational supervision. On the course you will work with educational experts and technologists to design a learning support tool that addresses the needs of clinical educators/trainers and trainees directly. The educational experts from the IOE will help you to implement your idea and will evaluate it. CPD points for the course are being applied for.
Examples of innovative learning support tools include:
• A mobile app to support trainee pre-reflection in advance of a case-based discussion
• How to use the ePortfolio to improve formative assessment practice by trainers or participants of a preceptor/internship programme
• The use of Free and Open Access Medical Education (FOAM) resources in training
• The role of technology to support multi-professional team training
• The use of video by trainees to support reflection on their communication with patients
• Supporting the application of simulation-based training to work-based settings
