They will hear talks from industry, academics, policy makers and practitioners, see research prototypes, learn about current research projects and findings and meet other like-minded people. Three LKL projects were successful in receiving funding from the IOE's Next Generation Initiative Fund to support innovation and knowledge
transfer activities to take place 2012/13 to 2014/15. The scheme is
supported by the IOE's Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF)
allocation from HEFCE.

The London Knowledge Lab is holding a youth Education Hackday. This is a 2-day event on November 16th and 17th 2012 where 50 students from 5 schools from across South East of England and London will come and build the future of their education at the Lab in London. The 17th November is also the day of London Festival of Education and the LKL will be presenting the results from the Hack Day at the London Festival, along with Michael Gove. The LKL will also be open to interested members of the public on 17th offering a range of hands-on activities in conjunction with TechHeads. Students will be using digital tools and techniques like video making, web/mobile app development and hardware hacking, and will build prototypes of ideas, services and products they think will demonstrate creative and innovative changes to help reshape 21st century education.
