What is iClass?
iClass is a project developing an intelligent cognitive-based open-learning system that is focussed on creating a self-regulated personalised learning environment and adaptable to individual learners' needs.

Aims
iClass aims to encourage the realisation of a paradigm shift: making ICT more than simply a tool and encouragement of self-regulated learning. The resultant system will allow the following:
• Different pedagogical approaches adaptable to the preferences of learners;
• Monitoring tools and encouragement of constructive dialogue between learners and the teachers or the system leading to better self understanding by learners (meta-cognition) and learning how to learn;
• Adaptable personalisation of content and delivery according to learner preferences;
• The ability for teachers and authors of learning objects to add pedagogical content;
• Assistance in the search of appropriate  pedagogical content from web based internal and external respositories.

LKL’s Role
LKL is managing the integration of the research work between the partners in the consortium as well as assisting the pedagogical leader in the following strands of research:
• Self-regulated learning approaches for use in schools or class environs.
• Search strategies and development of an assistive interface that teachers can use to search for pedagogically relevant materials.

End-Product
iClass aims to create:
• An advanced learning system that through dialogue with the learner, personalises the learning experience and increases the learners self-understanding;
• An environment that through integration with the handbook, shows and encourages teachers to take up self-regulated learning and provides access for all stakeholders (parents, teachers, students, ministries, publishers) to rich pedagogical content.
