LKL's Dr Carey Jewitt, Reader in Education and Technology, has been appointed the lead for Challenge 3: Knowledge, Creativity and Communication as part of the Beyond Current Horizons Programme.

The Beyond Current Horizons programme aims to look beyond 2025 in order to equip education to prepare for and respond to social and technological changes. The Challenge leads will commission a programme of scientific papers and consultation. Identifying the key trends and drivers that are operating in the Challenge area and identifying the possible impacts of these within education. This is one of five Challenge areas:

  1. Generations and Life-course
  2. Identities, Citizenship, Communities
  3. Knowledge, Creativity and Communication
  4. Working and Employment
  5. State/Market/Third Sector
