Methodology and Goals

The core element of NEXT-TELL is the ECAAD (Evidence-Centred Activity and Appraisal Design) methodology - a set of methods and tools that allow for teacher-based appraisal/ assessment as well as self- and peer-assessment.

LKL Role

NEXT-TELL will develop methods and tools with and forteachers. By means of a combination of researcher-led and teacher-led design-based research, teachers and students will have opportunities to influence the design and use of available technologies to support learning and assessment in and beyond the classroom.

A key role of LKL in the NEXT-TELL is to focus on teachers' professional development, in particular in relation to†teacher inquiry into students' learning†(TISL) and the participatory design of a set of tools and methods in relation thereto in conjunction with school leaders, teachers, learners and schools.

Outcomes

A platform and set of tools (methodological and technological) to support teacher-led inquiry and research will be designed in alignment with other NEXT-TELL components.

The TISL platform will include awide range of readily available internet-based technologies as well as TISL-specific tools for analysing assessment data and log file data.
