Location: IoE Bedford Way, Room 731
Further Info: Courses for All Project
Host/Speaker: Sue Cranmer, Will Gibson
Date and Time:
Tuesday, 29 January 2008, 14:00 - 16:00
|
In this session, Sue
Cranmer and Will Gibson intend to outline the goals and achievements of the Courses for All
project. In particular, they will describe the findings of the evaluation
of two online courses: the Masters in Educational and Social Research (MRes)
and Qualitative Data Analysis, a Framework (QDA). The first of these is
offered by the University of London's Centre for Distance Education; the second
by the Institute of Education as part of the Doctoral School training programme. Both courses are led by Will Gibson.
The presentation and discussion will be focused on the following research
questions:
- How can academics identify guidelines that will be useful?
- What are the issues (ease of use, barriers) for academics without specialist
technical knowledge in applying the guidelines to their online courses?
- How can we capitalise on the evaluation to help academics negotiate the
accessibility agenda and take on board accessibility guidelines in the
development of online courses?
If you have any access needs or requests for reasonable adjustments
please let us know prior to the training course/session to enable us to
ensure that all of your needs are met on the day.
