The December meeting of the Games Research Group will be a wrap up to 2005 (first timers are welcome) and we'll be asking "Who wants to play Killer with us next year?" John Salisbury (Middlesex University) will introduce the live action assassination game, Killer. There will be an opportunity to discuss the rules. Should players shoot each other using bananas or mobile phone cameras - or 'get them' by giving them flowers? Expect to face questions about ethics, personal space, safety, projectiles, public spaces, cheating, team-play and conspiracy. For more info on Killer visit http://www.sjgames.com/killer/ Plus, Niall Winters (London Knowledge Lab) will be showing us the iband, a wearable device for information exchange. What might such devices contribute (or not) to pervasive gaming? For more on the iband, see http://www.lkl.ac.uk/research/iband.html The provisionally named London games research group meet informally on a monthly(ish) basis to discuss computer games research and theory.
