Meet Owen White and Matt Gould from Pearson Innov8 at the London Knowledge Lab to find out more about the Innov8 competition:

Innov8, launched by Pearson, "aims to engage learners, educators,†designers and developers, technology enthusiasts, games creators, innovators and†anyone with an interest in ensuring that technology is used in new and exciting ways†to engage and inspire learners."†

Five entrants will win £1,000 to develop a pitch for their idea by working with the innov8 panel made up of young people, educationalists and innovators. The winner will be chosen by a mixture of votes from the panel and votes collected via the innov8 website and at the Pearson stand at BETT 2012. The winner will win an additional £5,000 to work in collaboration with Pearson to see their idea come to fruition.

If you have an idea about how technology might be used to support learning in new ways then enter the competition. There are†three themes:

• Gaming
• Smartphone and Tablet application
• Open data and technology

The competition will produce five Innov8 finalists and at least one will be a†young person or group of young people working together.†
