Getting Help
Help with your Coursework
Contact your course tutor or administrator if you have any problems with your coursework or assessment.
English Language and Academic Writing
Help with English and training in Academic Literacy is available to
students through the Academic Writing Centre. Staff may be able to provide support by
email, and their online writing centre offers extensive information on
academic writing. If you prefer, you can ask your tutor to refer you to
the Centre.

Personal, Financial and Welfare Issues
The Student Support Centre is available to provide welfare advice and
guidance on a wide range of practical issues such as funding your
studies, social security benefits, council tax, financial problems,
immigration and international student concerns. The Student Support
Centre also has information on childcare, careers guidance and personal
counselling. It can offer assistance through e-mail and by telephone.

students. They can offer advice and assistance on a wide range of
issues.

Blackboard Student Induction
The Institute of Education's virtual learning environment is based on the system Blackboard. We have developed a self-learning course that introduces students to Blackboard through a series of hands-on activities.
