We are introducing the new Bloomsbury Learning Environment (BLE) at the IOE, which is based on the popular open-source platform Moodle.
This workshop will take you through advanced methods to prepare your programme or module space. It is open to all staff
Note: Most parts of this workshop do not require specialist skills, but for some activities, web design skills are beneficial.
In this workshop, we will explore some of Moodle's advanced functions to improve your programme/module site design. By design, we mean structure, usability, and look.
You will learn how to:
- create conditional release rules to hide content until a particular event (date or successful completion of a prerequisite) is met,
- display different content to different groups,
- set up monitored activities to track student participation,
- enhance your programme/module site with visual elements,
- style various elements of your programme/module site,
- add functional blocks, for example to pull in external content automatically.
This workshop still focuses on programme/module site preparation. We will run additional workshops on how to manage learning activities at a later point.
